I think i like my best friend how to deal with it?

well i have this guy is like my best friend. i am soo comfortable around him and can talk to him about everything. he used to like me and used to like him and thats how we got to know each other but then we just became friends and nothing more has really come out of it. but ive started to have feelings for him and i dont know if he likes me too. it kinda seems like it but i dont know how to confront him or if i would freak him out. how should i start to let him know ? is it possible to be more than friends again or it too late?
